When you think of adversities, a God-given gift of musical talent, and an undeniable love and passion for spiritual growth, this young man is a great example of all these combined. Philip Ajalon Michael Tinsley, better known simply as Ajalon Tinsley or sometimes Prins Ajalon, was born on November 26, 1987 and raised in Harlem, New York City.
He began his musical career early playing the drums at his home church Blessed Trinity Baptist Church (Harlem, NY) at the age of five, and by the age of thirteen he discovered his gift in songwriting which also led him to start producing his own music. With the help of his Godfather, the late Rev. Philip M. Mann (then pastor) who was his motivation for success and spiritual growth; along with his mother’s encouragement and guidance, the support of a few family members and friends, he had no other choice but to use the talent that God gave him. Despite his strict, religious upbringing, he was rebellious in his teen years and made many wrong choices that lead to hard consequences. But he kept his faith and endured all the challenges – never looking back.
Ajalon now resides in Texas where he is a faithful and active member of Greater Vision Community Church. He continues to write and produce songs and has also made the transition from secular to Contemporary Christian music. He has accepted the call on his life to share his testimony and spread the good news of God's love for us all with the world.
